One Book, One Community

Not in God’s Name: Confronting Religious Violence by Rabbi Jonathan Sacks

What would happen if we all read the same book? Well, across the country it’s called One Book, One Community…We plan to try it here at West End Temple.

Tell your friends and neighbors to join us as we explore the issue of religious violence. All members of West End Temple and their friends are invited to read Rabbi Sacks’ important book and meet to discuss his ideas on Thursday, December 15 at 7:30pm.

Winner of the 2015 National Jewish Book Award, Rabbi Sacks explores the roots of violence and its relationship to religion, and employs a groundbreaking biblical analysis and interpretation. Rabbi Sacks shows that religiously inspired violence has as its source misreadings of biblical texts at the heart of all three Abrahamic faiths.

To register for West End Temple’s One Book, One Community and to have us order a book for you, you must let the office know. Please Contact Us to sign up, or call Gail in the temple office at 718-634-0301.
